The film opens with a man in handcuffs/chains being walked to a vehicle by 2 armed guards, suddenly an explosion happens in the background, and the 2 guards are dropped, the guy in cuffs ducks down behind the vehicle in a panic and searches through the guards coat for the keys, he frees himself and then grabs the guards gun and jacket an gets in the vehicle while shooting; he then drives off while being chased.
Across the mars landscape the vehicles chase him (at this point I'm not sure what our capabilities are of such a scene so I'll leave the development of this part to Graham, will involve a mech or 2)
Having lost the bad guys he pulls up to an old friends house, only to have his friend pull a gun on him as he tries entering, he disarms him and forces him to tell him whats going on, his friend reveals he set him up to go to jail (needs more fleshing out why and how he was set up), the main character yells at him then shoots him point blank.
He then walks outside an contemplates what hes just learnt.
All we need is names, the reason for the attack at the start, a reason for the jail setup an betrayal and a good gunfight during the chase scene.
Mike.

Nice idea, im liking very much.
ReplyDeleteWe should story board it at do a stick man test to get it to 2 mins long
I like this. What I like the most is the fact that it is fairly conclusive. It has a start and an end which is essential for a short film. After all, we aint making no trailer here! But then again, if we wanted to continue the idea and make a full length film, there is enough to work with. I doubt I could think up anything better! It's also well structured for a 2 minute epic . . .
ReplyDeleteStart - set the scene and introduces the character.
Middle - the main action. the meat in the sandwich! the hot dog in the bun!
End - the resolution to the conflict (the shooting) and then an epic final shot showing off the emotion of the main character and the scenery. The closing shot has to be something that the veiwer (or better still, judge) will remember!
I think we should run with this story.
